Irish Skip Size Guide

Sizes of skips vary from small to very large, with the larger ones offering better value if you have enough waste to fill it completely. Skip sizes are generally measured by their internal volume in “cubic yards”, which is abbreviated to “yards” or “yds”. One cubic yard is the same size as ten bin bags, or two large kitchen appliances, like a washing machine or tumble-dryer. The 6 and 8 yard skips are the most popular skips sizes in Ireland.

4 CUBIC YARD MIDI SKIP
This skip can hold up to 40 bin bags of waste material, the 4 cubic yard skip is ideal for small household projects like garden clearance.
6 CUBIC YARD SKIP
The 6 yard skip is a preferred option forbulky waste material, such as builder’s waste material, household waste, and other general materials.
8 CUBIC YARD SKIP
Often referred to as a maxi or builder’s skip it’s ideal for bulkier items such as builder’s waste, household waste and other general materials.
10 CUBIC YARD SKIP
The 10 yard skip features a larger 100 bin bags capacity that is ideal for those larger projects, DIY projects or even smaller builders jobs.
12 CUBIC YARD SKIP
Great for much larger houshold clearances, bulky builder’s waste. For all those larger projects and DIY projects which have got out of hand!
14 CUBIC YARD SKIP
The 14 yarder is fantastic for more lightweight general waste material for instance garage and attic clearances. Heavy duty waste isn’t permitted.
16 CUBIC YARD SKIP
One of the biggest skips available. Ideal for light building projects, large household projects, shop fitters as well as other kinds of general waste.
